EuroSim Best Master’s Thesis Award
Industrial engineering alum Sahil Belsare, MS’21, received the Best Master’s Thesis Award from the EuroSim Conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands for his thesis “A Deep Reinforcement Learning approach for an adaptive job shop scheduling.” Belsare used a deep reinforcement learning approach to solve a stochastic flexible job scheduling problem, which was innovative at that time.
Northeastern University COE Leadership Award
Demonstrated strong leadership skills throughout the program through participation in experiential learning, research, teaching, student committees, and because the student demonstrated characteristics of leadership excellence, embodied the College of Engineering’s core values, and made an exceptional contribution to the academic programs during the student’s time at Northeastern.
INFORMS Student Chapter Award
During 2020 and 2021 Sahil lead INFORMS Northeastern Group as a Secretary and Vice President, respectively. During which the Northeastern University INFORMS student group was selected as a winner of the 2021 INFORMS Student Chapter Annual Award at the Magna cum laude level for the third year in a row.
